Le Garrec & Cie, a private French company with significant holdings in the European flow measurement industry has acquired Faure Herman (www.faureherman.com) from IDEX Corporation. The acquisition significantly expands the global footprint of the flow measurement business for Le Garrec & Co. Faure Herman was founded in 1925 by Mr. Jean Faure Herman, an avid inventor with expertise in liquid measurement. Over the last 90 years, Faure Herman has continued to develop equipment to improve liquid measurement utilizing both mechanical and ultrasonic technologies. Faure Herman invented the helical turbine meter in the 1950’s as an improvement over the existing flat bladed technology and pioneered ultrasonic meters in the 90’s with varying number of transducers (1 to18) to optimize the customer’s measurement. Faure Herman’s calibration lab in La Ferte Bernard France has emerged as one of the preeminent flow laboratories in the world with some of the largest flow rates and highest viscosity ranges available anywhere. With the acquisition of Faure Herman, Le Garrec & Co. is continuing it’s strategy of investing heavily in the flow measurement business. These investments include the acquisition of complementary businesses in addition to significant internal investments.
